This graph shows the number of annual earthquakes globally above 7.0 magnitude on the Richter scale. Despite the fluctuations, it shows that there has been little change (and certainly no increase) in earthquake frequency over this period of time.
However, some arguments include that technological improvements allow us to measure, record and report earthquakes with greater accuracy. Whilst geological history goes back 000's of years, we only have records over the last century or so. |
